Google Introduces ‘Find My Device’ Feature for Android Users, Allowing Phone Tracking Even When Switched Off

Google has introduced a new feature for Android users called “Find My Device.” This feature allows users to track their phones even after they have been switched off, similar to iPhone users. With this feature, it becomes easier to find a lost phone.

Benefits of the updated Find My Device feature include not requiring internet connectivity to track the device. Users can now determine the location of their device simply by ringing it. Additionally, the mapping functionality will continue to work even when the device is offline.

Currently, this feature has been rolled out in the United States and Canada. Google unveiled this feature during last year’s I/O event. The new feature will be available for devices running Android 9 or higher operating systems. However, it will not be available for all electronic items. Currently, it works for Android devices and Bluetooth trackers. It is speculated that in the future, JBL and Sony headphones could also be tracked using this feature.
