Public Holidays Declared in Jaipur-Ajmer-Jodhpur Schools
Public holidays have been announced for schools in Jaipur due to the Lok Sabha elections 2024 voting day. Additionally, the schools designated as polling centers will have a local holiday on April 18, one day before the voting day. Both Lok Sabha seats in Jaipur, Jaipur City, and Jaipur Rural, will have voting in the first phase on April 19. Hence, all schools in the district where polling centers are set up will have a public holiday on April 18 for election-related activities. In the Ajmer Lok Sabha constituency, all schools associated with Jaipur’s Dudu Assembly will have a holiday on April 25, and in the second phase of the Ajmer Lok Sabha constituency, there will be a holiday on April 26.
Public Holidays Declared in Jodhpur Schools
For the Lok Sabha general elections, the District Election Officer and the Jodhpur Collector have declared a public holiday in schools in Jodhpur city, rural Jodhpur, and Phalodi on April 26, the day of the voting day. In Uttar Pradesh’s Palwal, a private holiday was declared on May 25 due to the elections.
Voting in Three Phases in Chhattisgarh, Holidays Announced
Under the directions issued by the Election Commission of India for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, designated voting dates for Chhattisgarh state have been declared as public holidays by the state government. In Bastar Lok Sabha constituency, voting will take place on April 19, in Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund, and Kanker districts on April 26, and in Sarguja, Raigarh, Janjgir-Champa, Korba, Bilaspur, Durg, and Raipur districts on May 7.
Employees in Continuous Process Industries to Vote
For factories operating seven days a week, employees in the first and second shifts have been given a two-hour break on the voting day, while those in continuous process industries have been directed to vote in shifts.
April 19 Declared as a Holiday in Madhya Pradesh and Manipur
In Madhya Pradesh, on the voting day of the first phase, voting will take place in Sidhi, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat, and Chhindwara. Workers will also benefit from private holidays. In Manipur, where the first phase of Lok Sabha voting will take place on April 19, employees of all private sector commercial and industrial establishments in the 47 assembly constituencies will have a private holiday on the following Friday (April 19). On this day, all private sector employees will have a holiday with salary payment.
