Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Zelensky himself shared this information through a social media post on Wednesday evening. He mentioned expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister for India’s support towards Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, humanitarian aid, and active participation in peace formula discussions. Modi also discussed the path to peace with Zelensky. Ukraine and Russia are currently entangled in a war, and on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with leaders from both countries.
Further Diplomatic Engagements
PM Modi also had a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the same day. Narendra Modi congratulated Putin on his victory in the Russian presidential elections and discussed various crucial international agendas. The ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia was a significant topic in their discussion.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba is also expected to visit India towards the end of this month. His visit follows a telephonic conversation with India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Yermak a few days ago. During the conversation, Yermak discussed a comprehensive and just peace plan. He emphasized the use of all diplomatic opportunities to seek a political solution with Russia. It is said that he is engaged in finding diplomatic solutions to stop the fighting with Russia.
