Elon Musk’s Startup Neuralink Achieves Success, Paralyzed Individual Plays Video Game with Help of Device

Elon Musk never fails to surprise with his ventures, and his latest startup Neuralink is no exception. The owner of Tesla, Elon Musk, has initiated a new startup called Neuralink, which has recently achieved success. Musk shared a video on his social media platform X, showcasing a person playing chess using only their brain. What’s remarkable is that the individual depicted in the video is a paralyzed patient, who is playing the game solely using their mind.

Musk Shares the Video

Elon Musk shared a video on his social media platform X, where a 29-year-old individual from the Netherlands is seen playing chess and Civilization VI solely by utilizing their brain. It’s important to note that the person, named Nolayn Aabogh, is a paralyzed patient. He mentioned that he had stopped playing these games but can now play them again. Musk shared the video with a caption stating that Neuralink demonstrated telepathy.

What is the Neuralink Device?

Neuralink is a brain chip that is implanted in the human brain. It has created a device shaped like a coin called “Link.” This device establishes a communication channel between the human brain and a computer. The device can directly control computers, mobile phones, or any other devices through brain activity. This device could be particularly effective for individuals with paralysis, enabling them to perform tasks using their minds.

Approval for Human Trials Received

It’s worth mentioning that Neuralink received approval for its first human trials in September 2023. Neuralink obtained recruitment approval from the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Following this, in January, the device was implanted into the human brain through surgery. The company stated that if the human trial proves successful, blind individuals would be able to see through the chip, and paralyzed patients would be able to walk again.
