Uttar Pradesh and Bihar Cancel Police Holidays Ahead of Holi Festival
In light of the upcoming Holi festival, all holidays for police personnel in Uttar Pradesh have been cancelled until March 27th. As a result, no police personnel will be able to take leave from March 22nd to March 27th. Those who are already on leave have been directed to return immediately.
The order, issued by UP DGP Prashant Kumar, explicitly states that police personnel on leave during this period should be summoned back immediately. Approved leave may only be granted for extremely urgent matters or emergencies. This directive has been sent to all police commissioners and district captains.
Additionally, in Bihar, holidays for police personnel have also been cancelled until March 28th, with the possibility of leave being granted in special circumstances. Similar actions have been taken in Jharkhand, where all holidays for police personnel in Ranchi have been suspended, with SSP having the authority to grant leave in exceptional cases.
Uttar Pradesh Transportation Department Cancels Holidays, Offers Incentives for Holi Special Buses Operation
In the transportation department of Uttar Pradesh, holidays for officials and employees have been cancelled for 10 days, from March 22nd to April 1st, due to the operation of Holi Special Buses during this period. During this time, no official, supervisor, driver, conductor, or employee will be granted leave, except in special circumstances. Related buses will continue to operate on the roads during this period. The transportation corporation will also provide incentive allowances ranging from ₹3000 to ₹10,000 to its drivers and conductors during this period.
These measures have been taken to ensure the effective functioning of essential services and to address any potential security concerns during the festive period. It is imperative for all employees and police personnel to adhere to these directives for the smooth operation of public services and maintenance of law and order.
