WhatsApp users have something to look forward to with an upcoming update that introduces a new feature similar to Instagram. Users will soon be able to tag their friends on WhatsApp, much like they do on Instagram.
This new feature, set to be launched in the status feature of WhatsApp, allows users to tag others in their status updates
It mimics the functionality present on Instagram, where users can tag others in their posts. However, concerns about privacy have arisen, as tagging on Instagram exposes the tagged profile to others, enabling them to access it. Whether tagging on WhatsApp will allow others to access the tagged contact remains a significant question.
Users will receive notifications when they are tagged in someone’s status, similar to how notifications work on Instagram. This feature is currently being tested on WhatsApp’s Android beta version 2.24.6.19, allowing beta users to preview and utilize it. Alongside this tagging feature, WhatsApp is preparing to roll out several other updates, including improvements to internet connection quality, privacy features, and media upload quality. These updates aim to provide users with more convenience and enhance their overall user experience.
With these new features and updates, WhatsApp aims to offer enhanced functionality and a better user experience to its users. This new feature and update will soon be available to all users.
