Rakesh Roshan Pledged House and Car for Son, While Hrithik Delivered Hits, Father Faced Lethal Attack

Rakesh Roshan went to great lengths to launch his son Hrithik Roshan in Bollywood. When he was launching Hrithik, he didn’t hesitate to put his house and car on mortgage. However, even after Hrithik’s success, Rakesh Roshan faced a lethal attack.

Hrithik Roshan, often hailed as one of Bollywood’s superstars

earned the tag of the “Greek God” of Indian cinema. His journey to stardom was quite remarkable, as he rose to fame overnight. Making his debut in the film “Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai” in 2000, Hrithik never looked back in his professional career. Despite being the son of renowned actor-turned-filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, Hrithik achieved success through his own talent and hard work.

Hrithik Roshan collaborated with his father Rakesh Roshan on several films

Which turned out to be the most successful ventures of his career. Among them, his debut film “Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai” was significant. In an old conversation with Karan Thapar on the BBC, Hrithik revealed the immense risk his father took to launch him. He shared that the film’s budget was around three crores, and his father had mortgaged both their house and car. However, everything turned out well in the end, and Hrithik reminisced, “The film did very well, the house was saved, and so was the car. But I didn’t know about this at the time. The last time this happened was when he was producing his first film himself, which was our home production, which he directed himself. He had to do it to launch me, and both times it worked.”

Hrithik also revealed an interesting incident from his conversation with his father Rakesh Roshan

He mentioned that he wasn’t happy with the story of “Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai” because he wasn’t sure if his double role would work or not. Following this, Hrithik recounted how his father scolded him and said that he shouldn’t be taught how to make films.

The success of “Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai” was met with a tragic incident for Rakesh Roshan when he was attacked by unknown assailants. The attack was believed to be fueled by jealousy after the immense success of the film. However, the impact was felt on actor Hrithik Roshan, who decided to step back from films immediately. But fate had something else in store.
