Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Last Chance for Nomination Withdrawal in Madhya Pradesh for Second Phase, Third Phase Nomination Process to Begin Soon

The nation is gearing up for the Lok Sabha elections, with preparations underway across the country. Today marks the final day for the withdrawal of nominations for the second phase of elections in Madhya Pradesh.

In areas like Satna, Khajuraho, Rewa, Tikamgarh, Damoh, Betul, and Hoshangabad, among others, candidates contesting in the second phase of polling will have their statuses clarified today. After today, it will be evident how many contenders are set to compete against each other. Voting in these areas is scheduled for April 26. Candidates will have 16 days for campaigning after the withdrawal of nominations today.

Number of Nominations Received

For the second phase of elections, nominations of 93 candidates have been accepted, while 16 nominations have been rejected due to discrepancies. Breaking down the numbers district-wise, there are 14 nominations in Rewa, 14 in Khajuraho, 8 in Tikamgarh, 16 in Damoh, 9 in Betul, 12 in Hoshangabad, and 20 in Satna. Additionally, five nominations in Khajuraho and Rewa, and two in Tikamgarh, Damoh, and Satna have been cancelled.

Nomination Process for Third Phase

The nomination process for the third phase of Lok Sabha elections is set to commence soon. Interested candidates willing to contest in the elections can file their nominations starting from April 12. It’s worth mentioning that in the third phase, polling will take place in 8 constituencies of Madhya Pradesh.
