No Horoscope, No Rituals, BJP Engages Priests to Connect with Voters in Delhi

In the midst of the Lok Sabha Election 2024 campaign season, parties employ various strategies to secure victories, leaving no stone unturned to sway voters. Adopting a unique approach, the BJP is enlisting the help of priests to convey their message to voters. The responsibility for this outreach has been entrusted to the Temple Cell.

The party has established the Temple Cell about two years ago in Delhi, and since then, its officials and workers have been actively engaging with priests from various temples to align them with the party’s objectives. Several programs have been organized with the support of these priests, especially during the occasion of the inauguration of the Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

The BJP’s goal is to connect with common voters through emotional appeals facilitated by priests

Workers are holding meetings with priests in every district and parliamentary constituency, providing them with information about the achievements and schemes of the central government.

A program is scheduled for April 21 at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, coinciding with the Hindu New Year. Various heads of sects and other religious leaders will attend, along with priests and their families from different temples across Delhi. During this event, around 51,000 people are expected to recite the Hanuman Chalisa. It’s noteworthy that this is the first time such a program is being organized in Delhi on the occasion of the Hindu New Year, with invitations extended to Union Ministers, including Home Minister Amit Shah.

Efforts will be made to emotionally connect with voters through priests

Discussing topics such as the installation of Lord Ram’s idol, the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, counter-terrorism measures, development of religious sites, running special trains for pilgrims, honoring spiritual leaders, and promoting indigenous products.

Furthermore, plans are underway to celebrate Hanuman Jayanti on April 23 with great enthusiasm across all 14 organizational districts of Delhi. Preparations for these events have already been completed.

This strategy aims to strengthen the BJP’s relationship with voters on an emotional and cultural level, leveraging the influence and trust commanded by religious leaders within their communities.
