Scheme Details and Application Process
The Kanya Utthan Yojana is operated by the Bihar government and is divided into three categories. Under the scheme, students who have passed the 12th grade receive Rs. 25,000, while graduate students receive Rs. 50,000, and students who achieve first division in the matriculation exam receive Rs. 10,000. The application process for students who have passed 12th grade has started. Students can apply through the e-Kalyan portal, and the application process is open until May 15.
Eligibility Criteria
Interested and eligible students can apply on medhasoft.bih.nic.in. To avail of the benefits, students must be permanent residents of Bihar and come from economically weaker backgrounds. Additionally, only families with two daughters are eligible for the scheme. For students in the second category, achieving first division in the 12th grade is mandatory.
Required Documents
To apply for the Kanya Utthan Yojana, students need the following documents: Aadhaar card, parents’ Aadhaar cards, proof of permanent residence, bank passbook, 10th and 12th-grade mark sheets, the mobile number of the student and their parents, and passport-sized photographs.
