  • Jewelry marked as 24-carat gold is 99.9% pure, while 22-carat gold contains approximately 91% purity.
  • 22-carat gold often contains other metals like copper, silver, and zinc, to make jewelry.
  • Jewelry made of 24-carat gold cannot be produced as it is too soft, hence most jewelers sell 18, 20, and 22-carat gold.
