, Relief for Students as 2-Day Break Announced

As the scorching summer heat begins to set in across various states in India, the education departments have announced summer vacations in schools, providing much-needed relief to students. States like Maharashtra, Odisha, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Puducherry, and Tripura have already commenced their summer breaks since April. Meanwhile, Delhi, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan are set to begin theirs in May.

In Rajasthan

the Education Department has officially declared a 2-day holiday for all government and private schools in the state, considering the rising temperatures and heatwave conditions. The directive, issued to all district collectors, ensures that students from classes 1 to 8 get a break from their academic routine to avoid the discomfort caused by extreme weather conditions.

For instance, the district collector of Dholpur, Shrinidhi B.T., has announced a holiday on May 8th and 9th for all schools in the district due to the prevailing heatwave conditions. However, essential staff members are required to continue their duties as usual. Any institution found operating during this period will face legal action under the provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.

In Bikaner

local holidays have been declared on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya (Bikaner Foundation Day) on May 9th, as per the orders issued last year. Additionally, local holidays are also scheduled for September 10th for the Poonamrasar Hanuman Fair.

In Punjab

The state government has announced a holiday on May 10th on account of the birth anniversary of Lord Parshuram Ji. All schools, colleges, government offices, and other commercial establishments will remain closed on this day.

As the summer vacations roll out across these states, students and teachers alike can look forward to a brief respite from their regular academic routines amidst the sweltering heat. These holidays not only offer relief from the scorching temperatures but also provide an opportunity for students to rejuvenate and spend quality time with their families.
