In a tale reminiscent of rebellion and young love, a minor girl who had eloped from Gwalior nearly 20 days ago was traced by Gwalior police in Jhansi. She was found residing with her lover, masquerading as his wife. However, when the police scrutinized her documents, it was revealed that she was below 18 years of age. Subsequently, based on medical examinations, the police charged the young man with sexual assault, POCSO Act violations, and unlawful confinement.

Giving details, CSP Shubhra Shrivastav informed that the journey began with the registration of a missing person’s report on February 2. The police were actively trying to trace the girl to bring her back home. During this search, they discovered that even her neighbor was missing. The police, through mobile surveillance, pinpointed the boy’s location.
Initially, the boy had kept his phone off. However, when he turned it on recently, the police tracked his location. After reaching Jhansi, the police apprehended both and brought them back to Gwalior. The duo had been living as husband and wife in Jhansi, concealing the fact that the girl was a minor. The girl shared during preliminary investigations that her parents had fixed her marriage elsewhere against her wishes, and she had fled before the scheduled wedding on February 7.
