Demand for Public Disclosure of Investigation Report

Congress legislator Vikrant Bhuria from Jhabua has written to the General Administration Department, demanding the public disclosure of the investigation report by the committee led by Rajendra Kumar Verma. The committee was formed to investigate allegations of corruption and malpractices in the Patwari recruitment examination conducted in March-April 2023 for Group 2, Subgroup 4, and Patwari positions. Bhuria expressed confidence that making the investigation report public would reveal the facts to everyone.

Background of the Case

The Professional Examination Board (PEB) had released a notification for 9200 positions for Group-2, Subgroup-4, and Patwari examinations. The examinations took place from March 15 to April 26 at 68 centers, with a total of 12,7663 applicants. Out of these, 978,270 candidates appeared for the examination. The results were declared on June 30, 2023, and the merit list included 8617 candidates. However, the results for the remaining positions were withheld.

A committee led by Justice Rajendra Kumar Verma was formed in July 2023 to investigate the matter, and after an 8-month-long inquiry, the committee recommended lifting the ban on announcing the examination results. Following this, the Mohan government ordered the prompt release of the Patwari recruitment examination results, which were published last week.

This update brings a ray of clarity and resolution to the long-standing issue, allowing the candidates to proceed with their appointments and training. Further revelations from the investigation report are anticipated to shed light on the fairness and transparency of the recruitment process
