PM Kisan Samman Nidhi: 16th Installment to Credit Tomorrow, 21 Thousand Crore Rupees to Reach Farmers’ Accounts

Farmers across the nation are eagerly anticipating the 16th installment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, scheduled to be released tomorrow, February 28, 2024. Under this scheme, more than 11 crore farming families have already received over three lakh crore rupees directly transferred to their accounts. Prime Minister Namo Shetkari Mahasamman Nidhi is set to distribute approximately 3,800 crore rupees as the second and third installments to eligible beneficiaries. This distribution is expected to benefit around 88 lakh farmers in the state of Maharashtra alone.

Distribution of Funds and Development Projects

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, eligible beneficiaries in Maharashtra receive an extra 6,000 rupees annually. Prime Minister Modi will also allocate over 4,900 crore rupees towards various development projects in the state. This includes the distribution of revolving funds to women Self-Help Groups, benefiting the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) under the Ministry of Rural Development.

Apart from these initiatives, the Prime Minister will initiate the distribution of Ayushman cards, aimed at improving the annual income of economically disadvantaged families by promoting small enterprises led by women at the grassroots level. In addition, the Prime Minister will kickstart the Modi Awas Yojana for beneficiaries in the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category in Maharashtra, transferring the first installment of 375 crore rupees to approximately 2.5 lakh beneficiaries.

Focus on Infrastructure Development

Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate several railway projects worth more than 1,300 crore rupees in Maharashtra. These initiatives aim to enhance transportation infrastructure in the state.

Review of Gaganyaan Mission

During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will assess the progress of the Gaganyaan mission, India’s first human spaceflight program. This ambitious initiative involves comprehensive preparations at various ISRO centers.
