Initially, he incurred losses due to insufficient information, but with the advice of friends, he gained insights into the intricacies of poultry farming. Constructing a shed with a capacity for 6000 chickens, he turned his fortunes around by raising chickens and establishing a lucrative business.

Ratan Kumar Singh did not stop at poultry farming; he expanded his business to neighboring states like Jharkhand. Achieving an annual turnover in crores, he emphasized that collaboration with a major company enabled him to venture into chicken and feed businesses. The poultry farming business has not only flourished in the Banka district but has also spread to neighboring regions like Munger and Bhagalpur. More than 150 poultry farms operate in Banka, purchasing chicks and feed from local farmers like Ratan Kumar Singh.
