Kedarnath Dham 2024: The dates for the opening of the gates of Kedarnath Dham have been announced.on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri, the announcement of the Dham’s opening has been made. Travelers can plan to visit the temple from May 10 onwards.

Divine Doors Swing Open: Kedarnath Dham to Welcome Pilgrims on May 10

Kedarnath Dham, nestled in the Rudraprayag region, will allow pilgrims to have a divine glimpse of Lord Shiva from May 10 onwards. The temple remains closed for six months each year, starting from November, due to extreme weather conditions. During these months, the prayers shift to Ukhimath’s Omkareshwar Temple.

The much-anticipated announcement of the opening date came today, on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri, at the Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath. Pilgrims and devotees eagerly await this day, as it marks the commencement of the pilgrimage season.

Starting from 62 days after today, on May 10, pilgrims will be able to witness the divine aura of Kedarnath Dham. The gates will open at 7 AM, allowing devotees to experience the spiritual energy that surrounds this sacred place.

  • On Foot: Embarking on a pilgrimage on foot is considered a spiritual and enriching experience. The trek can be initiated from Gaurikund or Sonprayag, covering approximately 14 km from Gaurikund or 21 km from Sonprayag.
  • National Highway: Road services for the pilgrimage are also available, with buses and taxis transporting devotees to Kedarnath Dham.
  • Palki Service: Some devotees opt for the palki service, where a palanquin carries pilgrims to the sacred temple, providing a unique and spiritually fulfilling experience.
