Commencement of RTE Lottery in Madhya Pradesh Today, Distribution of Admission Funds to 33 Lakh Students

Under the Right to Education Act, the initiation of the lottery for free admissions in private schools is set to begin today in Madhya Pradesh. Alongside this, admission funds will be distributed to students from 30 districts.

Every year, the commencement of the online lottery for free admissions in private schools is a significant event in Madhya Pradesh. This year is no different, with the lottery system set to commence today, on Thursday. Along with the opening of the lottery, admission funds will be transferred to 33 lakh students. The Minister of School Education, Uday Pratap Singh, will inaugurate the online lottery and oversee the transfer of admission funds to accounts.

A program under the Right to Education Act is scheduled to take place at Vallabh Bhavan at 11:30 AM today. Under this act, free admissions are provided to children from deprived and weaker sections in non-aided schools. These schools reserve 25% of their seats for this purpose.

More Than 1 Lakh Applications

This year, for the RTE lottery system, parents of over 1,48,000 children have applied for admission verification, applying for admission to 23,000 schools. Among them are 77,473 boys and 71,222 girls. The application process was completely free. After application, over one lakh children have been found eligible during document verification. After the lottery draw today, information about the allocated schools will be available on the RTE portal. Additionally, information will be sent via SMS to registered mobile numbers.

Distribution of Admission Funds in These Districts

Apart from the RTE lottery, the distribution of admission funds will also take place. A sum of Rs. 600 per student will be transferred to 33 lakh students. This fund distribution will cover 30 districts including Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal, Harda, Kharagpur, Shajapur, Jabalpur, Dhar, Balaghat, Vidisha, Agar Malwa, Sehore, Morena, Gwalior, Neemuch, Ashoknagar, Dewas, Nivari, Burhanpur, Mandsaur, Damoh, Datia, Guna, Umaria, Katni, Dindori, Rajgarh, and Balaghat.

This initiative signifies the government’s commitment to ensuring education accessibility for all children, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and marks a significant step towards achieving educational equity and inclusivity in Madhya Pradesh.
