The Department of Food Supply and Consumer Protection has extended the deadline for online renewal applications until April 30, 2024, bringing relief to millions of ration cardholders. In light of the announcement of Lok Sabha election dates, the Vishnu Dev Sai government in the state has provided significant relief to ration cardholders. The state government has extended the deadline for ration card renewal once again. Now, cardholders can apply online until April 30.
In this regard, the director of the Food Department has issued directives to all district collectors. Currently, the work of renewing all 77 lakh ration cards under the public distribution system in Chhattisgarh has been extended until April 30, 2024. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai had instructed to extend the date of ration card renewal, keeping in mind the convenience of the general public, so that all eligible beneficiaries can apply.
How to Renew Ration Cards?
The Food Department has developed a new mobile app for ration card renewal, which can be downloaded from the Play Store. Beneficiaries can download this app from the Food Department’s website http://khadya.cg.nic.in. Ration cardholders can submit electronic applications for renewal through this app on their mobile phones.
For those beneficiaries who do not have an Android mobile phone or where there is no mobile connectivity, the facility to submit electronic applications for ration card renewal through the online process at the appropriate price shop level is also being provided.
