Aadhaar card, one of the essential documents serves as a means of identification for individuals. But did you know that Aadhaar card can also be used instead of an ATM card? Through the Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS), cash can be obtained from the comfort of your home without the need for UPI or debit cards. This facility is provided by India Post Payments Bank.
Benefits of These Facilities
Under AePS, bank customers can leverage their Aadhaar-enabled bank accounts to withdraw cash without visiting an ATM. Postmen assist in delivering cash withdrawals made through the AePS system. Users also benefit from services like balance inquiry, mini statements, and Aadhaar to Aadhaar transfers.
How Does It Work?
To avail of this facility, candidates need to have a bank account linked with AePS. Transactions are completed through biometric authentication. Users are not required to carry their Aadhaar card at all times, only the knowledge of their Aadhaar number is necessary. Additionally, there are no transaction charges associated with this service. The maximum transaction limit is set at ₹10,000. Requests for doorstep service can be submitted at www.ippbonline.com/web/ippb/service-request.
What to Do in Case of Transaction Failure?
If a transaction fails through AePS, customers can lodge a complaint with their bank. A helpdesk has also been set up for resolving issues. Customers can share grievances and complaints via the call center @ 1555299 or other IPPB channels.
