Without an Aadhaar card, individuals cannot access the benefits of both government and non-government schemes. It is also a mandatory requirement for school admissions and even purchasing a SIM card.
For those who obtained their Aadhaar card a decade ago and haven’t updated changed details, such as address and other information, there is a call for all Aadhaar cardholders to update their data based on the new personal details.
UIDAI, the governing body for Aadhaar cards, has introduced a special facility for cardholders. This facility can be accessed online through the ‘My Aadhaar Portal’. Residents can visit any Aadhaar Enrollment Centre to avail of this service.
This facility allows Aadhaar cardholders to update their demographic information and address proof documents based on the newly acquired data. This service is available free of cost on the portal until June 30. Citizens can also opt for online updates through the Citizen Portal. In case a visit to the Aadhaar Enrollment Centre is necessary, a nominal fee of INR 50 will be applicable for updating documents.
How to Update Aadhaar Card Details Quickly:
Visit the official website https://uidai.gov.in/.
Click on the ‘Update Aadhaar’ option.
Access your account by inputting your Aadhaar number and entering the One-Time Password (OTP) you have received.
Select the option to update the address.
Update all necessary documents related to the address.
Upload all information related to the updated address.
Generate a request number.
Save the request number, and within a few days, your Aadhaar update will be processed.
