Amid claims of a wave of change sweeping the nation and a fight to uphold the Constitution, the Congress party has suffered a significant setback in Indore. Official party candidate Akshay Kant Bham withdrew his nomination form today on the final day of withdrawals at the collectorate. This move signifies an open field for BJP candidate Shankar Lalwani in Indore, as Congress contender Akshay Kant Bham, who stood poised to give Lalwani a tough competition, has bowed out.
The prospect of change and the battle to safeguard constitutional values have been at the forefront of Congress’s narrative, but the withdrawal of its official candidate from the Indore seat has left the party’s hopes in jeopardy. Akshay Kant Bham’s decision to withdraw his nomination form on the last day of withdrawals paves the way for BJP’s Shankar Lalwani, who was facing a formidable challenge from Bham.
Yesterday, Akshay Bham was spotted at the collectorate alongside senior leader Ramesh Mendola
A photograph shared by Kailash Vijayvargiya shows Akshay Bham sitting in a car with him, accompanied by a caption welcoming Bham into the BJP fold. However, when questioned by the media as they left the collectorate, they declined to comment, stating that media presence was not allowed at the venue. Nevertheless, Collector Ashish Singh confirmed Bham’s withdrawal of his nomination form.
Outside Bham’s residence, police presence has been increased amid concerns that Congress supporters might cause a disturbance following the withdrawal of his nomination. It is rumored that Akshay Kant Bham may join the BJP today upon his arrival in Bhopal.
The withdrawal of Akshay Kant Bham’s nomination form has altered the political landscape in Indore, offering BJP’s Shankar Lalwani a clearer path to victory in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
