It’s worth mentioning that the Telecom Department has initiated a government portal named “Chakshu” to tackle cyber fraud.
What is the Chakshu Portal?
The Chakshu portal is a platform where you can register complaints about suspicious fraud messages or calls, including spam calls and messages received on WhatsApp. It covers a range of frauds related to bank accounts, payment wallets, gas connections, and more.
How to File a Complaint
- Visit the official website of Sanchaar Saathi (https://sancharsaathi.gov.in/).
- Click on the “Citizen Centric Services” option.
- Then, click on “Report Suspected Fraud Communication.”
- Next, click on “Continue for Reporting,” and a form will appear.
- Provide the required information about the fake WhatsApp call or message in the form.
- Click on the specific complaint from the fraud list.
- You’ll need to upload a screenshot of the fake call or message.
- While filing the complaint, you’ll be asked to provide your mobile number and name.
- After entering the captcha code and OTP verification, submit the complaint.
