FRC’s New Rules, Fixed Hostel Fees for Upcoming Academic Session

Colleges in Indore have set the hostel fee at INR 7500 per semester for the upcoming academic session, as per the recent decisions by the Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC). According to these regulations, no college can charge more than this specified fee from students. This decision comes in the wake of annual allegations against colleges for arbitrarily increasing fees, providing relief to students.

Transportation and Placement Fees Also Specified

Alongside this, FRC has set the transportation fee at INR 6000 per semester and the training and placement fee at one thousand rupees per semester (for the final year). All colleges offering various courses, including engineering, diploma, MBA, MCA, are required to adhere to these regulations. During this period, the Fee Committee has made it clear that a late fee should be imposed, calculated at INR 25 per day. If the delay extends to a month, a maximum of INR 500 may be charged, and for delays beyond a month, a penalty of one thousand rupees will apply.

Late Fee Rule Clarified

FRC explicitly states that a late fee of INR 25 per day should be charged, and students must comply with this rule. If the delay extends for a month, a maximum penalty of INR 500 is applicable. However, if a student fails to pay the fee for three months, the late fee cannot exceed two thousand rupees. Any violation of these rules may lead to disciplinary action as per the university’s regulations.
