Google Podcast Service Shutting Down on April 2, Here’s How to Transfer Your Data to YouTube Music

Google has decided to shut down its podcast service this time. Google Podcast Service will be discontinued from April 2nd. If you are a user of Google’s podcast service, then transfer all your data to YouTube Music today. The company has announced that it wants to transfer its podcasts to YouTube Music.

Here’s how you can transfer your data to YouTube Music:

  • First, go to the Google Podcasts app.
  • Select the “Export Subscriptions” option visible on the top screen.
  • Select the “Export to YouTube Music” option under “Export to YouTube Music.”
  • Then, you’ll need to click on the “Continue” option.
  • Now select the “Go to Library” option to view your subscriptions.

It’s worth mentioning that the Google Podcasts app has been downloaded by users from the Google Play Store more than 500 million times. According to an Edison report, 23% of users preferred using the YouTube Music app for podcasts, while only 4% of users used the podcast app.

Google started integrating podcast features into the YouTube Music app in 2023. Now the company is bringing it entirely to the music app. This means that users can now enjoy both music and podcasts in one app. For now, this change is happening only in the United States.
