Google’s New Feature, Tracking Phone Location Even When Switched Off

Google has rolled out a new feature for Android users called “Find My Device.” Similar to iPhone users, Android users will now be able to track their phones even after they are switched off, making it easier to locate them if lost.

Benefits of Find My Device

With the updated Find My Device feature, users won’t need internet connectivity to track their devices. Users can now determine the location of their device by ringing it. Even when the device is offline, the map will still function.

Who Will Benefit from the New Feature?

Currently, this feature has been rolled out in the United States and Canada. Google unveiled this feature during last year’s I/O event. The new feature will be available for Android 9 or higher operating systems. However, it won’t be available for all electronic items. Currently, it will work for Android devices and Bluetooth trackers. It’s said that in the future, JBL and Sony headphones could also be tracked using this feature.
