The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported changes in the country’s weather pattern, with snowfall in the hilly states and ongoing rainfall in some regions. Heavy Rainfall Begins in Delhi-NCR
As per the latest update from the weather department, Delhi-NCR residents woke up to heavy rainfall on Tuesday. The IMD predicts that light to moderate intensity rain with thunder is likely to continue in and around Delhi. The weather office has forecasted partly cloudy skies with a possibility of drizzle or light rain in the next 24 hours.

The weather office anticipates that on February 21, Delhi will experience partly cloudy conditions with a chance of light rain or drizzle. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 28 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may hover around 12 degrees Celsius.
Orange Alert for Jammu and Kashmir, Red Alert for Himachal Pradesh
IMD has issued an orange alert for Jammu and Kashmir and a red alert for Himachal Pradesh till February 21. Due to two western disturbances, the Western Himalayan region, including Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh, is likely to witness light to moderate rain or snowfall. The alerts come with warnings of thunderstorms, strong winds, and lightning.
Heavy Snowfall in Himachal Pradesh
On Monday, Lahaul and Spiti, some parts of Kinnaur, and high-altitude areas in Kullu and Chamba districts of Himachal Pradesh experienced moderate to heavy snowfall. Considering the situation, the weather department has issued a red alert for “heavy” to “very heavy” rain or snowfall, accompanied by avalanches, thunderstorms, and lightning in seven districts of Himachal Pradesh.
Rain Predictions for Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh
IMD forecasts the possibility of rain in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and some parts of western Uttar Pradesh until February 21. Over the next five days, the majority of the country is not expected to experience significant changes in minimum temperatures.
