The Income Tax Department regularly announces new features to assist taxpayers at intervals. In the current tax filing session, the department has introduced yet another new feature, which is expected to be highly beneficial for taxpayers. With this new feature, taxpayers will no longer need to visit the office repeatedly. They will be able to manage their affairs with ease.
What Facilities Will Be Available
This new feature, added to the “e-Proceedings” section available on the Income Tax Department’s portal, allows users to track all pending tax proceedings conveniently. According to information, taxpayers will be able to view all notices from the department with just one click.
Here’s What You Can Expect
The “e-Proceedings” tab added to the e-filing portal essentially provides taxpayers with a simple way to electronically respond to all notices, communications, and letters issued by them. The feature offers a search option to easily locate all letters and notices.
In this new tab on the Income Tax Portal, the following communication information will be provided
- Adjustment under Section 143(1)(a)
- Notices issued by Assessing Officers or other tax authorities
- Rectification under Section 154
- Defective notice under Section 139(9)
- Information-demand against adjustment under Section 245
- Communications sought for clarification
Additionally, another convenience has been provided. Now, registered users can also add or remove an authorized representative to respond to any notice/communication/letter.
