Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has reiterated his commitment to retaliate against Israel, following months of continuous threats directed at the country. Khamenei had previously stated regarding the Gaza attacks that Israel would not escape unharmed after killing Palestinians. Following the attack on the Iranian embassy in Syria, he has intensified his aggressive stance towards Israel.

On Wednesday, he reaffirmed his determination to take retaliatory action against Israel. Speaking at a prayer ceremony marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, he condemned the airstrike on the Iranian diplomatic mission in Syria and declared it as an attack on Iranian territory. He stated that those responsible for this attack will face the consequences, and retaliation will be taken.
Last week’s aerial attack on the Iranian embassy in Damascus resulted in the deaths of 12 individuals, including seven officers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. Four Syrian civilians and a Hezbollah member also lost their lives in the attack. While Israel has not officially claimed responsibility for the attack, Iran has blamed Israel for it. Concerns have risen about possible retaliatory actions from Iran following this incident.
Khamenei also criticized Western countries, especially the United States and Britain, for supporting Israel in its conflict with Hamas in Gaza. He stated, “We hoped that countries like America and Britain would stop Israel in this crisis, but they did not. Western governments have failed in their duty. This has created a dire situation in the region.”
Iran has repeatedly warned of its preparedness to retaliate against Israel, particularly after the recent attack on its embassy in Syria. The targeting of high-ranking Iranian officials in the attack has further fueled tensions between Iran and Israel, raising concerns about potential escalations in the region.
