Ladli Behna Yojana 2024: Essential Updates for 1.29 Crore Beneficiary Sisters, Next Installment of Rs. 1250 to Arrive in June

The Ladli Behna Yojana was initiated by the previous Shivraj Singh Chouhan government in May 2023. It was designed to provide benefits to married women aged 21 to 60, with the first installment released on June 10. So far, 12 installments have been disbursed, with the 13th installment set to arrive next month.

Recently, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav disbursed Rs. 1250 crore into the accounts of millions of beneficiary sisters as part of the 12th installment. The next installment is expected to be released in June. There is a possibility that, depending on the results of the Lok Sabha elections on June 4, the funds for the 13th installment might be released before the 10th of June.

Under the rules of the Ladli Behna Yojana, Rs. 1250 is deposited into the accounts of millions of sisters on the 10th of every month

However, in recent months, installments have been disbursed earlier than scheduled. For example, the 12th installment was credited to accounts on May 4 instead of May 10. Prior to that, the 10th and 11th installments were disbursed on March 1 and April 5, respectively. The upcoming installment will be disbursed on June 10, with the possibility of an early release due to the Lok Sabha election results, although official confirmation is pending.

Asserting the commitment to the scheme

CM Mohan Yadav stated that promises made by the BJP are always fulfilled. He reassured the public that the Ladli Behna Yojana will continue without interruption. After the conclusion of the elections, names of eligible individuals will be added to the scheme. Every month on the 10th, funds will be deposited into the accounts of sisters, with early deposits in case of holidays or other unforeseen circumstances. Before the Vidhan Sabha elections, the government announced that the amount would gradually increase to Rs. 3000 per month.

The Ladli Behna Yojana commenced in May last year

Initiated by the previous Shivraj Singh Chouhan government. Initially offering Rs. 1000 to eligible women, the amount was later increased to Rs. 1250 in August. Under this scheme, women born after January 1, 1963, but before January 1, 2000, are eligible to apply. They must be residents of Madhya Pradesh and married, including widows, divorcees, and abandoned women. The family should not have any taxpayer members, and the annual income should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh. Additionally, the family should not own more than 5 acres of land, and no member should be employed in government service. Furthermore, the household should not own a tractor or a four-wheeled vehicle.

The Ladli Behna Yojana stands as a significant initiative to empower and support women in Madhya Pradesh, ensuring their financial independence and well-being.
