As the Lok Sabha Election 2024 progresses through its seven phases, with two phases already completed, the voting process in Madhya Pradesh has attracted attention. Scheduled for May 7th, the voting process for the third phase will be observed by delegations from Sri Lanka and the Philippines in the state capital, Bhopal.
According to Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan, the delegation from Sri Lanka, led by Justice Vijay Priyasad Gerard Dep of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Make Recommendations for Election Law Reforms, and the delegation from the Philippines, led by Associate Commissioner Socorro B. Inting of the Commission on Elections, will be in Bhopal from May 5th to May 8th, 2024. During this period, these delegations will witness the entire process of the Lok Sabha elections.
On May 8th, the delegations will meet with the Chief Electoral Officer to discuss their observations
They will also observe the voting process and the activities of polling teams at polling centers in Sehore, Vidisha, Raisen, and the capital city, Bhopal, on May 7th. Subsequently, on May 8th, these delegations will interact with the Chief Electoral Officer to share their experiences.
The presence of international delegations during the Lok Sabha elections underscores the significance of India’s democratic process on the global stage.
