Lok Sabha Election 2024: Voting for the Betul Lok Sabha seat will now take place on May 7th, with only BSP candidate filing nomination.

As per the Election Commission of India’s website, following the postponement of polling scheduled for April 26th in Betul, the Election Commission announced a new date on Wednesday. The election for the Betul constituency will now take place in the third phase on May 7th.

After the demise of the BSP candidate Ashok Bhalavi, the election process was halted

Now, a new electoral schedule has been announced. As per the new election schedule, only the BSP candidate’s nomination will be accepted, and voting for the Betul seat will take place on May 7th.

It’s worth noting that the Betul Lok Sabha seat was supposed to go to polls in the second phase

With voting scheduled for April 26th. In the second phase, Betul was among the seven Lok Sabha seats where elections were to be held. After the completion of the election process, a total of 88 candidates remained in the field, including 8 candidates from Betul. However, after the unfortunate news of the BSP candidate’s demise due to a heart attack, the election was postponed. Now, the Election Commission has decided to conduct the election in the third phase.
