The electoral process for Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh is in full swing. Yesterday witnessed the voting for the second phase, and today marks the completion of the nomination process for the fourth phase.
Before the commencement of voting
A mock poll will be conducted to ensure the smooth functioning of the electoral process. Meanwhile, the nomination process for the fourth phase will conclude today. Candidates have until 3 p.m. to submit their nominations, after which no further nominations will be accepted.
Candidates contesting in the fourth phase, which includes constituencies like Mandsaur, Indore, Ujjain, Khargone, Khandwa, Ratlam, and Dhar, will have the opportunity to withdraw their candidature until April 29.
Voting for the fourth phase is scheduled to take place on May 13. The scrutiny of nomination papers will be conducted by April 26, and candidates will have until April 29 to withdraw their names.
In Madhya Pradesh
The second phase of polling for six constituencies, including Tikamgarh, Damoh, Satna, Khajuraho, Rewa, and Hoshangabad, will be held. Polling will take place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. in these constituencies.
Special arrangements have been made to ensure the safety and convenience of voters. Public and general holidays have been declared in the election areas, and security arrangements have been tightened. Police surveillance will be maintained at polling booths, and adequate arrangements will be made at polling centers to facilitate voters.
