UPI Payments Without Internet: Sometimes, due to internet connectivity issues, you may face difficulty in making online payments. But now you can make UPI payments even without the internet.
Using USSD Service
If you are facing internet issues while making online payments, you can use *99#. The Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) is a mobile banking service based on data that provides banking services to everyone across the country. It allows you to perform various tasks from sending money to changing UPI PIN without the internet.
How to Use It
First, dial *99# on your smartphone. Use the same phone number linked to your bank account. Choose a language of your preference. Then, enter the name of your bank. You’ll see a list of bank accounts linked to your number. Now, enter the last 6 digits of your debit card along with the expiry date. Once this is done successfully, you can make UPI payments without an internet connection.
Making Offline UPI Payments
First, dial *99# on your phone and write 1 to send money. Then, enter the UPI ID or phone number of the person you want to send money to. After that, write the amount you want to send and then enter your UPI PIN. After doing this, your payment will be completed. Please note that through this service, you can only send a maximum of Rs. 5,000.
