Opening batsman Rohit Sharma played a commendable innings, scoring 49 runs off 27 balls, including three sixes and six boundaries. Ishan Kishan also contributed significantly with a brisk 42 off 23 balls. However, Suryakumar Yadav, playing his first match of the season, disappointed as he returned to the pavilion without scoring.
