Odisha CM Announces Salary and Benefits Hike, Grants Additional Leave for Women Employees

Ahead of the Holi festival, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik of Odisha has unveiled a significant gift for the state’s Panchayat representatives and female employees. The CM has announced an increase in salaries, allowances, and gratuity for Panchayat representatives. Additionally, he declared financial assistance for the families of Panchayat representatives in the event of their demise or disability.

Highlights of the Announcement

Salary and Gratuity Increase

Monthly gratuity for District Panchayat Presidents has been raised from ₹9,380 to ₹30,000.

The gratuity for District Panchayat Vice Presidents has seen an increase from ₹7,040 to ₹20,000.

District Panchayat Members will now receive a gratuity of ₹3,530, up from ₹3,530.

Other Allowance Adjustments

The daily allowance for these representatives has been raised from ₹300 to ₹600.

Panchayat Samiti Representatives

Samiti Presidents will now receive a monthly honorarium of ₹15,000, up from ₹3,530.

Samiti Vice Presidents will see an increase in their honorarium from ₹2,350 to ₹7,500.

Samiti Members will now receive ₹7,500, up from ₹2,350.

The gratuity for Sarpanchs has been increased from ₹2,350 to ₹10,000.

The gratuity for Ward Members has been increased from ₹940 to ₹4,000.

Leave Benefits for Women Employees

Female employees in various departments will now be entitled to 25 days of casual leave or earned leave annually.

Financial Aid for Disability or Death

In the unfortunate event of the death or disability of Panchayat representatives, the state government will provide ₹2 lakhs for complete disability and ₹1 lakh for partial disability.

Empowering Women in the Workforce

In a commendable move to empower women in the workplace, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has granted an additional 10 days of annual casual leave to female employees working in various departments. This initiative is aimed at creating a more supportive and inclusive work environment for women.
