The Indian Railways is set to launch a new super app, consolidating various services into one platform for the convenience of passengers. Currently, there are several apps available for different railway-related services, but with the new super app, passengers will have access to all services in one place without the need to download or visit multiple apps.
Features of the Super App
The new super app will offer services such as ticket booking, train tracking, and other railway-related functionalities. According to media reports, the app could be launched before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Presently, there are various apps associated with different railway services, including UTS, TMMS-Inspection, Rail Madad, SARTHA, IRCTC Rail Connect, and IRCTC Air, among others. Among these, the most popular is the IRCTC Rail Connect, which has been installed by over 100 million users.
Upcoming Features
In addition to the super app, a 24-hour ticket refund scheme is expected to be introduced. This means that if a person cancels a ticket within 24 hours, they will be eligible for a refund. Furthermore, the PM Rail Passenger Insurance Scheme is also set to begin soon, providing passengers with security during their journey.
The launch of these new features and the super app is aimed at enhancing the overall experience of railway passengers and making railway services more accessible and convenient.
