In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan, particularly in the Rajsamand constituency, an intense battle is anticipated. The Congress, considering caste equations, has chosen a Gujjar candidate in response to the BJP’s female candidate.
Rajasthan is crucial for the BJP this election
Aiming to secure all 25 seats. Prior to ticket distribution, the BJP meticulously considered caste demographics. Additionally, several former MPs have been appointed as ministers in the state government. There is considerable enthusiasm among party workers following victories in the Rajasthan Assembly elections.
The resignation of Rajasthan’s Deputy CM, Diya Kumari, has set the stage for an intriguing contest in Rajsamand. Besides the Rajputs, OBC votes are also pivotal in this constituency, where the BJP has a strong foothold. This time, the BJP has nominated Mahima Singh, wife of MLA Vishvrajsingh, as its candidate. Although the Congress initially named Sudarshan Rawat, he withdrew his candidacy, making the race challenging for the party as the election countdown begins.
To appease Gujjar voters, Congress has fielded Damodar Gujjar
A Congress candidate from Bhilwara. He has been sent to Rajsamand, while CP Joshi has received a ticket from Bhilwara. Congress has made efforts to consolidate Gujjar votes. However, the Congress candidate has limited time for campaigning in the region. In the previous assembly elections, a significant portion of Gujjar votes went to the BJP. Currently, the battle in Rajsamand appears to be quite challenging.
