Employees in Jammu and Kashmir working in the Jammu division during the Lok Sabha elections in the Kashmir Valley have been granted three days of special casual leave, as per a notification issued by the General Administration Department. The decision comes amidst the implementation of a code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections across the country, with the first phase scheduled for April 19th.

Particularly for the Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency elections on April 19th, the Jammu parliamentary seat elections on April 26th, and the Anantnag-Rajouri parliamentary seat elections on May 7th, will be granted three days of special casual leave. Additionally, displaced Kashmiri Hindu employees deployed to cast their votes will also be given a three-day holiday. An order has been issued regarding this as well.
Prior to this, on April 8th, the General Administration Department had announced a three-day holiday for displaced Kashmiri Hindus stationed in Kashmir to cast their votes
Since voting will take place in five phases in Jammu and Kashmir, special casual leave has been decided for displaced Kashmiri Hindus to cast their votes, allowing them to utilize their voting rights at specially designated polling centers in Srinagar, Baramulla, and Anantnag. The Election Commission has established a total of 26 polling centers, with 21 in Jammu, one in Udhampur district, and four in Delhi. Elections for the Udhampur seat will be held on April 19th, for the Anantnag-Rajouri seat on May 7th, for the Srinagar parliamentary seat on May 13th, and for the Baramulla parliamentary seat on May 20th. As a result, displaced Kashmiri Hindus will receive holidays from May 6th to 8th, May 12th to 14th, and May 19th to 21st.
