State Government’s Big Gift: Officials to Receive Benefits from 21 Different Allowances, Significant Increase in Salary, Orders Issued

Judicial officers in the state will now receive benefits from 21 different allowances, as per the decision taken by the state government. These allowances include conveyance allowance, dearness allowance, house rent allowance, furniture and air-conditioning allowance, and vacation travel concession, among several others.

This move comes as a significant gift from the Uttar Pradesh government to judicial officers. The decision to provide these allowances was made after approval in a cabinet meeting, and the official order has been issued by the Department of Personnel.

Notably, these provisions are based on the recommendations made for serving judicial officers, retired judicial officers, and pensioners by the National Judicial Pay Commission. In addition to allowances, judicial officers will also receive a transfer grant.

Here are some of the allowances that judicial officers will benefit from

  • Bal Shiksha Bhatta (Child Education Allowance): Judicial officers up to Intermediate level will receive a monthly allowance of ₹2250 as education allowance for up to two children, along with a monthly hostel subsidy of ₹6750.
  • Griha Nirman Agrim Bhatta (House Construction Advance): Additional responsibilities allowance, conveyance allowance, dearness allowance, house rent allowance, furniture and air-conditioning allowance, house maintenance allowance, and vacation travel concession will also be provided.
  • Earned Leave Encashment, electricity and water charges, higher qualification allowance, hardship allowance for those posted in hill areas or remote locations will be provided at the rate of ₹5000 per month.
  • A special allowance for domestic help or assistant at home will be ₹10,000 per month.
  • Medical allowance, medical facility allowance, press allowance for taking newspapers and magazines, clothing allowance, special allowance for administrative duties, honorarium, and telephone/mobile allowance for home use will also be provided.

This move is expected to significantly boost the overall remuneration and benefits for judicial officers in Uttar Pradesh.
