The Indian stock market has witnessed significant declines during early trading hours. As the market opened, 21 out of 30 stocks in the Sensex showed red marks, while 9 experienced gains during initial trading.
During the early trading session, the Sensex plummeted by 240 points. Consequently, the Sensex commenced its day’s trading at 73,293 points. Similarly, Nifty also slipped by 44 points during early trading, starting its trading at 22,258 levels.
Top Losers in the Market
Today, during the initial trading session, shares of BPCL, SBI, ITI, Coal India Limited, Maruti Suzuki, Axis Bank, and Tata Steel were seen in the red. Conversely, shares of Dr. Reddy’s, Larsen, UltraTech Cement, HDFC Bank, Divi’s Labs, Asian Paints, and Apollo Hospitals were part of the list of today’s weakest stocks. Additionally, during the early trading session, all sectoral indices of Nifty were trading in the red.
The expectation for Wednesday’s trading in the stock market was a flat performance. However, signals in the Nifty futures indicated that Wednesday’s share market trading could begin on a normal note.

It’s worth mentioning that yesterday, on May 7, the Indian stock market witnessed a decline. According to reports, the Sensex saw a decline of 383 points, closing at 73,511 levels. Similarly, Nifty also slipped by 140 points, closing at 22,302 levels.
