Bank Holidays: Quickly take care of all essential tasks as banks will remain closed for several days between March 18 and 31. With various festivals like Holi and Rang Panchami approaching towards the end of March, many banks will be closed for several days. If you have any banking-related tasks, it’s important to handle them promptly, otherwise, it could lead to inconvenience.

Here’s when banks will be closed in March 2024

  • March 22, 2024: Banks closed in Patna due to Bihar Diwas.
  • March 23, 2024: Fourth Saturday.
  • March 24, 2024: Sunday.
  • March 25, 2024: Banks closed nationwide except in Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Imphal, Kochi, Kohima, Patna, Srinagar, and Thiruvananthapuram due to Holi.
  • March 26, 2024: Banks closed in Bhopal, Imphal, and Patna due to Holi or Yaosang Day.
  • March 27, 2024: Banks closed in Patna due to Holi.
  • March 29, 2024: Banks closed nationwide except in Agartala, Guwahati, Jaipur, Jammu, Shimla, and Srinagar due to Good Friday.

During bank holidays, customers can still utilize online services such as UPI, mobile banking, internet banking, etc., without any interruption. Services like fund transfers through UPI, cash withdrawals from ATMs, net banking, ATM usage, digital payments, and credit/debit card transactions remain unaffected. RBI categorizes bank holidays into three categories: holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement holidays, and bank account closing days.
