According to IMD, most states in the country are experiencing a chill in the air. Simultaneously, a possibility of thunderstorms, cyclones, hailstorms, and heavy rainfall has been predicted in the plains states over the next 48 hours. Furthermore, there is a likelihood of substantial snowfall in the states of the western Himalayan region on March 1 and 2.

A new western disturbance is expected to become active from February 29, affecting the western Himalayan region and influencing the plains of North West India. Significant snowfall is expected in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand during this period.

Weather Alerts for the Next 6-7 Days

According to IMD, on February 26 and 27, there is a possibility of thunderstorms, hailstorms, and rain accompanied by lightning in Central India. The IMD has indicated that there is a trough line extending from North to South in the northeastern direction, marking the border between high and low-pressure areas. Another line, extending from the eastern Arabian Sea to central Madhya Pradesh, has been observed.

Due to these weather conditions, there is a likelihood of sporadic rainfall in South Madhya Pradesh, South Chhattisgarh, North Telangana, and parts of Central Maharashtra. Light rainfall and thunderstorms are expected in the western Himalayan region today and tomorrow. Western disturbance is active, leading to light rain in the plains of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Western Uttar Pradesh, and Northern Rajasthan.

Expectation of Thunderstorms and Scattered Rainfall in the Coming Days

IMD anticipates scattered rainfall in the northeastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura until February 29. Additionally, Arunachal Pradesh is likely to experience thunderstorms and sporadic rainfall in the next 6-7 days.
