Lok Sabha Elections: 100% Voter Turnout Before 10 AM at Naxal-Affected Booth in Balaghat

The Lok Sabha elections have commenced in Madhya Pradesh across 6 constituencies: Chhindwara, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat, Shahdol, and Sidhi. These constituencies have over 1.13 crore eligible voters who will choose among 88 candidates. Notably, Jabalpur has the highest number of candidates with 19, while Mandla has the lowest with 10.

In recent updates, it has been reported that a booth in a Naxal-affected area of Madhya Pradesh witnessed 100% voter turnout before 10 AM. This booth had 80 voters registered. Conversely, in a village in Shahdol, residents boycotted the elections.

Voting in Naxal-affected Balaghat district will continue until 4 PM

Voting for the nation’s largest elections began at 7 AM and will continue until 6 PM. However, in Naxal-affected areas of Balaghat district, including the Parswada, Lanji, and Baihar assembly constituencies, polling will take place from 7 AM to 4 PM. Due to Naxal activities, an air ambulance has been deployed in Jabalpur, and a helicopter in Balaghat.

Vivek Tankha Targets BJP

Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Tankha cast his vote in Jabalpur and took the opportunity to criticize the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He commented on the “400 Paar” slogan, stating that the BJP is unlikely to achieve that target this time. Tankha believes that the BJP’s influence is waning in North and South India, making it improbable for them to achieve the “400 Paar” slogan.

The Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh have thus far witnessed notable turnout and political commentary, with various constituencies presenting unique challenges and dynamics.
